LEARN ALL THE ESSENTIALS

module 1

getting started

Here we guide you through installation and setup, including audio and MIDI configuration. You'll learn to navigate the interface, and you'll master basic functions like recording MIDI and exporting your project, allowing you to create a simple track.

module 2

WORKING WITH MIDI

Your introduction to inputting and editing MIDI. You'll learn how MIDI works, how to input MIDI notes into your DAW, and explore how to create expressive music using a range of MIDI editing tools.

module 3

WORKING WITH DIGITAL AUDIO

Here we explain sample rates, bit depth, and file formats which will set a foundation for your work with audio. You'll learn editing techniques (splitting, copying, fading, looping, and adjusting volume), as well as audio processing techniques like normalisation, pitch-shifting, and effects.

module 4

CONTROLLERS, BUSSES & EFFECTS

Mastering 'Continuous Controllers' will help you create expressive MIDI compositions in any context. You'll implement advanced audio routing techniques, such as creating auxiliary tracks and using bus-based effects. We also explore ways to organise your tracks to keep your projects organised and easier to manage and mix.

module 5

ADVANCED FEATURES

Let's dive into some Logic Pro specific tools, like the Session Players (Bass, Keys, and Drums), to create dynamic tracks tailored to your style. We also cover inputting movies into your projects, using Logic Remote to control Logic Pro from your iOS device, Live Loops, and how to create articulation sets for your sample libraries.

module 6

MIXING, MASTERING & EXPORTING

To wrap-up, you'll be joined by mix engineer Tim Johnson. You'll learn how to use the mix window and channel strips, explore stock mixing plugins in Logic Pro, and gain a strong understanding of the process of mixing your own music. By the end of this module you will have mixed and mastered your work, and have a final export of your composition.
